- People in the UK normally change their mobile phone every 10 months.
- In Europe 100 million phones are thrown away each year.
- Mobile phones contain valuable metals such as gold which can be recovered from phones when they are recycled.
- Mobile phones also contain dangerous metals, including lead, cadmium, zinc and mercury which can be extracted from phones through the recycling process.

MOBILE PHONE TREATMENT
- Normally old mobile phones are left in cupboards and drawers or even thrown into the bin.
- Nearly all mobile phones can be reused by people in developing countries.
- All phones collected by Fones4Schools will either be recycled or reused.
- Mobile phones can be reused for the manufacture of other products such as traffic cones and plastic toys.

ACHIEVEMENTS
Since its launch in 2003 Fones4Schools has;
